A civil society group has demanded a comprehensive cost breakdown from authorities ahead of the proposed WAEC and NECO examination fee increase. The group emphasized that transparency is essential before any upward review of examination tariffs is implemented.

In a formal statement addressed to educational authorities, representatives argued that rising costs of living already place a heavy burden on parents and students across the country. They called for a detailed explanation of the operational costs necessitating the proposed price hikes.

Educational stakeholders have urged the examination bodies to engage in constructive dialogue with parents, school administrators, and ministry officials before making final policy decisions.
